Getting Started

  • Do I need experience to start?

    No. Most students at Fight Ready started with zero experience. Our fundamentals classes are designed for total beginners. Coaches teach the basics step by step.

  • How fit do I need to be?

    If you can walk a mile, you can start. Fitness builds with training. Most beginners are dramatically fitter within 90 days.

  • How old do I need to be?

    Adult classes are open to anyone 18+. Kids classes start at age 5. Teen program serves ages 13 to 17.

  • Is there a free trial?

    Yes. Every new member gets a free intro class with no card required.

  • What should I wear?

    Athletic clothes you can move in. Shorts and a t-shirt. No special gear required for first class.

  • What should I bring?

    Water bottle, towel, and an open mind.

Classes And Programs

  • What disciplines do you teach?

    MMA, Brazilian jiu jitsu (gi and no gi), kickboxing, boxing, kids martial arts, fitness and conditioning, and self defense.

  • How long is a class?

    60 to 90 minutes typically. BJJ tends toward 75 to 90 minutes. Striking classes 60 to 75 minutes.

  • How many classes per week should I take?

    Two to three classes per week is the sweet spot for most adults. More is fine if you can recover.

  • Will I have to spar?

    No. Sparring is optional. Many members train for years without sparring.

  • Do you offer private lessons?

    Yes. Private lessons are available with all coaches by appointment.

  • Are there open mat times?

    Yes. Open mat times are included with membership.

Santino teaches MMA fundamentals classes for beginners and intermediates. New students often start with Santino because his teaching style works at every level.

Pricing And Membership

  • How much does it cost?

    Pricing varies by tier. See our pricing page or book a free intro class for current rates.

  • Is there a contract?

    No. All memberships are month-to-month.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    We have a 30-day cancellation policy, and all cancellations need to be done via email to info@fightready.com

  • Can I pause my membership?

    Yes. Memberships can be paused for travel, deployment, injury, or other life events.

  • Do you offer family discounts?

    Yes. Family memberships save significantly over individual memberships.

  • Military and first responder discounts?

    Yes. Active duty, veterans, and first responders receive a discount on memberships.

Kids And Family

  • What ages can start kids classes?

    Age 5 and up. Some programs available for younger kids; ask us.

  • Is martial arts safe for kids?

    Yes with proper coaching. Our kids classes prioritize safety, age-appropriate intensity, and real skill development.

  • Will martial arts make my kid more aggressive?

    The opposite. Quality martial arts builds emotional control, discipline, and respect.

  • Do you have a summer camp?

    Yes. Weekly summer camps for kids ages 5 to 14.

  • Can my whole family train together?

    Yes. Family memberships cover up to 4 members.

Safety

  • Is MMA safe for beginners?

    Yes. Injury rates at quality gyms are lower than recreational basketball or running.

  • Will I get hurt?

    Beginners drill technique without contact. Sparring is optional. Most members train for years with minor bruises at most.

  • What if I have a past injury?

    Tell your coach. We work with members managing past injuries every day.

  • What are your hours?

    Monday to Thursday 8 AM to 8 PM. Friday 8 AM to 7 PM. Saturday 8 AM to 2 PM. Sunday closed.

  • Do you have parking?

    Yes. Free parking out front.

  • Can I tour the gym before signing up?

    Absolutely. Stop by during business hours.

Fight Team And Competition

  • Can I join the fight team?

    Yes, by application. Coaches assess each candidate.

  • Do I need a fight record?

    No. We welcome amateur prospects with no record.

  • Can I compete in BJJ tournaments?

    Yes. Many of our students compete at IBJJF, local tournaments, and other events.
