Teen Martial Arts
Real martial arts for teenagers (Ages 13-17). The training that adults respect, scaled for teens. Builds character, skill, and the foundation that lasts.
Why Teens Train At Fight Ready
The teenage years are when habits set for life. The decisions teens make about how they spend their time, what they value, and who they spend time with shape who they become as adults. Martial arts gives teens one of the most powerful positive frameworks available.
Fight Ready's teen program builds skill, fitness, character, and community in a structured environment. Teens train hard, learn real martial arts, and develop the kind of confidence that shows up everywhere in their lives.
Teen Program Structure
Ages 13 To 14
Younger teens learn fundamentals across BJJ, kickboxing, and wrestling. The pace is structured. Sparring is light and supervised. Focus is on technique development.
Ages 15 To 17
Older teens train alongside young adults in select classes. Technique becomes more advanced. Sparring becomes more realistic. Teens can join the youth fight team if interested in competition.
Teen Fight Team
For teens serious about competition. Coached by Hunter Azure and Bobby Moffett. Competes in BJJ tournaments, kickboxing events, and amateur MMA shows.
What Teens Get From Training
Real Skill
Teens train real MMA, BJJ, kickboxing, and boxing. Not flashy demonstrations. Not fake belts. Real skills that work.
Discipline That Transfers
Showing up consistently. Working through frustration. Following coaches. These habits show up at school, on the field, and in personal life.
Confidence Through Capability
A teen who has earned a belt and executed techniques against resistance carries themselves differently than peers who have not.
Athletic Development
Many teen athletes in football, basketball, wrestling, and other sports train at Fight Ready to develop body control, conditioning, and competitive mentality.
Anti-Bullying Tools
Most bullying ends when targets carry themselves like trained martial artists. The body language changes alone often resolve the situation.
Stress Relief
School stress, social stress, academic pressure. Training is one of the most effective stress relievers available for teens.
Real Community
The community at the gym is different from school cliques. Teens at Fight Ready build friendships across age groups and backgrounds.

Common Teen Concerns
I have no experience
Most teens at Fight Ready started with no experience. Beginners are welcome at every class.
I am out of shape
Fitness builds with training. Most teens are dramatically fitter within 90 days.
I do not want to fight anyone
You never have to. Sparring is optional. Competition is doubly optional.
I am too busy with school and sports
Two sessions per week is enough for steady progress. Most teens find time without rearranging their lives.
Common Parent Concerns
Will my teen become more aggressive?
The opposite. Quality martial arts training builds emotional control, respect, and wisdom to avoid fights.
Will my teen get hurt?
Injury rates at quality gyms are lower than recreational sports. Beginners drill without contact.
Is this a good extracurricular?
Yes. Martial arts builds discipline, fitness, and character. Many of our teen members report academic and behavioral improvements after consistent training.

From the very first class, the coaches made it fun, energetic, and super welcoming. My children come out of every session sweaty, smiling, and more confident than ever. They’ve built real skills, better focus, and tons of discipline, all while having a blast. The atmosphere is positive and family-friendly, with instructors who clearly care about the kids’ growth both on and off the mat.
If you’re looking for kickboxing that actually engages your children and delivers results, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Coach Bobby is the best you can get. My girls love going to his classes—they actually cheer when I tell them it’s kickboxing day! They’re little, but Coach Bobby makes it fun while still helping them learn and build skills. I highly recommend his classes.
